Located in Escondido, California, San Diego Zoo Safari Park features over 3,500 animals across a 1,800 acre park. As one of the largest tourist attractions in San Diego County, there are species of animals from Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe and North and South America. With over 2 million visitors annually, there is something for everyone and makes for a great family getaway or just a day at the park.
Summer 2016 Events
In addition to the vast array of wildlife, there are numerous fun summer events approaching for the summer 2016 season including:
Asian Celebration
From June 29th through August 16th, the San Diego Zoo Safari Park is hosting the Summer Safari Asian Celebration which features exciting activities such as acrobatics, dance, music, shows and contests. When first entering the Tiger Trail attraction, you will be engrossed in Asian-themed festivities and encounters with incredible animals.
Breakfast with Tigers
On Saturday, May 28th and Saturday, September 3rd, the Park is hosting Breakfast with Tigers which allows visitors to enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet while watching the tigers start their day. The breakfast is hosted in the Tiger Trail’s Sambutan Longhouse which features amazing views of these lovable large cats.
Father’s Day Buffet
On Sunday, June 19th, the Park is proud to offer the Father’s Day Buffet to celebrate Father’s Day. In addition to live musical entertainment, there will be a cash bar and guests receive their own reserved table based on guest count. The buffet is located in Hunte Nairobi Pavilion.
Summer Camp
With several options available, including 4-day and 5-day half and full-day camps for a variety of age levels, campers will go on safari’s where they can practice counting, learn about different types of animals and how they adapt to varying environments and learn about animal care and conservation. The older campers will receive insight into what it takes to operate the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.
