The biggest cat show in the western U.S. is coming to the fairgrounds in Del Mar on January 23 and 24, 2016. Also known as Food and Water Bowl XXIV, this cat competition is the Super Bowl of cat competitions. There will be a beauty contest which may have up to 450 exotic cats. There will be a wide variety of cats to see from long hair to virtually hairless. There will be a household cat competition for spayed/neutered non pedigree pets.
Want to see the cats using their amazing physical skills? There will an agility ring where cats can show off what they can do. The agility ring will be open to household and pedigree cats.
An important part of the show is the education ring. One topic that will be discussed is how judges are making their decisions for the show. There will be experts on hand to discuss several topics. This a great opportunity to learn about your feline friends. There will be information on a history of rare breeds, cat personality traits, caring for older cats, training cats, and adopting a new cat.
The San Diego CFA Cat Show donates space to local shelters. Are you looking to add a cat your family? The shelters will be on hand to find their rescued cats forever homes. A portion of the proceeds from admissions go to local shelters as well.
Last but not least, you can go shopping for your cat at the Meow Mall. There will be unique gifts to buy for your pet and pet lover. The largest selection of vendors at any show in the western US will be on hand displaying their goods.
