Are you looking for the best volunteering opportunities for Thanksgiving in North County San Diego? Volunteering for the holidays is a great way to help those in need, as well as getting to know people in your local community.

We love giving back to the community for the holidays, and we encourage our friends, family, and staff to volunteer whenever possible. On every Thanksgiving, there are many families that are down on their luck this season, and they do not always have the extra income to afford a holiday dinner.

St. Vincent de Paul Village –  St. Vincent de Paul Village is the largest rehabilitation program for the homeless in San Diego meeting the needs of 851 men, women, and children living at the Village each day. Each year more than 10,000 San Diegans donate their time to St. Vincent de Paul Village. St. Vincent de Paul Village offers a variety of opportunities for those who want to get involved, make a difference and help our “neighbors in need”

Do you enjoy walking, running and/or marathons?  If so, be sure to check out the 13th Annual Father Joe’s Villages Thanksgiving Day 5K Run in Balboa Park! The  Father Joe’s Villages Run & Walk is on Thursday, November 27, 2014 from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM (PST) San Diego, CA

Are you looking to stay inside this Thanksgiving, but still want to help those in need? Contact the Adopt a Marine for Thanksgiving program at Camp Pendleton – 760-385-4921 These Marines only get approximately eight hours off on the Thanksgiving, and if they have no family nearby, you can be their hosts. Since transportation is sometimes an issue, it’s best for volunteers to be in North County San Diego.
