Lets face it. We live in the age of instant gratification. Here at our Escondido dental office we are keeping up with instant gratification!
If you ever had crowns or veneers on your teeth or know someone that has, you probably know that these procedures require a minimum of two visits. The first visit the teeth are prepared and an impression or mold of your teeth are taken. This mold is then sent to a dental laboratory where the Porcelain veneers or crowns and fabricated. You then have to return after a couple of weeks, get numb again, get the temporaries removed and the final restorations bonded into place granted the shade is right. If the shade isn’t right, you have to have temporaries again, the restorations sent back to the lab and return again to get numb and go through it all over again. In the meantime, you may have returned a couple of times to get the temporaries re-cemented.
With the latest Cerec Omnicam digital Cad Cam technology you can have your restorations placed in one day. I know that sounds too good to be true but here is how it is done.
Your first visit is a consultation and we take a series of photographs for smile analysis and molds of your teeth for our records. Then based on our discussions of smile design, we sent the molds to our master ceramist who then fabricates what we call a “wax-up”. This wax up serves as our guide to exactly how we want the teeth to look as far as shape and length. Once everyone is happy we schedule the procedure date.
On the day of the procedure we scan the final wax up of the desired shape of the teeth, and prepare the teeth. Our master ceramist and Cad Cam specialist will be at our office scheduled just for your procedure. We scan the prepared teeth and duplicate the wax up to make your beautiful crowns and veneers. The restorations are milled right here at our office in our dental laboratory. They will be tried into the mouth to verify the shape and bite. Our in house laboratory technician takes this a step further and does a cut back technique and adds in hand shaped porcelain and custom stain and glazing to achieve the most beautiful and natural smile. This may take a few hours, so don’t worry we have a heated massage chair with TV monitors in all of our rooms to entertain you. Some patients even choose to have us make a temporary so they can go out and do some errands.
Your beautiful smile awaits you as we bond in your new porcelain crowns or veneers and you can be on your way to Hollywood! Doesn’t this sound much nicer than the old way? Our team in our Escondido Dental Group, Lifetime Smiles, is here to answer any questions you may have regarding your same day crowns and veneers. Please don’t hesitate to call us at 760-747-1811 and don’t forget to take advantage of our new patient promotion.
To your beautiful smile,
