Meet the Team

We love what we do, and we're devoted to making your experience with us as pleasant as possible! Each member of our staff plays an important part in your total dental care. From appointment scheduling and explanations of treatments to budgeting to teeth cleaning and helping soothe the nerves of a new patient, we promise to be here for you.

To keep up with advancements in dental care, our staff receives ongoing training. Actually, we never stop learning. In fact, our dentists have been known to take over 20 post-doctorate courses per year! In addition to a thorough knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, we use state-of-the-art sterilization techniques, so your safety is always guaranteed.

Cathy

Insurance Co-ordinator

Hi, I'm Cathy Hartley. I've had the pleasure of working at Lifetime Smiles as the dental insurance coordinator since December of 2006. I have been in the dental field for many years (Please don't make me tell you how many) and have had experience as a dental assistant and dental office manager.

In our spare time, we love the beaches. I have even been known to spend some time on a boogie board and John is learning to surf.

It really is my pleasure to work at Lifetime smiles, a place where the Drs. and staff care not only about the health of our patient's teeth, but also about our patient's overall wellbeing.

Chris

Registered Dental Hygienist

I first started with Lifetime Smiles as a dental assistant when I was attending Orange Glen High School here in Escondido. As soon as I received my Dental Hygiene license, I came to work here as a hygienist. I took some time off when raising my four daughters. Upon returning to work, I was at another practice, but now I am back where I started!

There are many things I appreciate about working here. There is an emphasis on quality of work and on being ethical, honest and caring. I like that we are a family practice and see patients of all ages. We keep up with the very latest advances in knowledge and technology so that we can provide the best care for our patients.

In my personal life, I keep busy with my family that now includes six grandchildren.  I am active in my church and dancing and hiking are favorite activities with friends. I enjoy reading, spending time on the computer and aerobics to keep in shape.

Stacey

Registered Dental Hygienist

Hi, my name is Stacey Boyer. I have been a dental hygienist for 25-years. I live in Valley Center with my husband and 2 teenage kids. My career with Lifetime Smiles has spanned over 20-years believe it or not! I did leave the practice briefly to have my children and also to gain experience in a periodontal practice as well as other practices.

Lifetime Smiles is definitely my dental home and that is why I am here. I look forward to helping you obtain your dental goals.

Jayme

Registered Dental Assistant

Hi, my name is Jayme. I have been working for Lifetime Smiles since April of 2003. This is such an awesome place to work. My co-workers are the best! I have a wonderful husband, a very athletic little girl and a brand new baby girl (Payton Skye)!

In my off time, I find myself at her soccer, softball, and volleyball games. In my spare time (if I have any), I ride my horse Pedro ('vote for Pedro') - he's a paint. I enjoy going to the desert and boating. We have almost completed the building of our own home.

Mike

Registered Dental Assistant

Hi, I'm Mike Stanford. You could say I was born into the field of dentistry. My father practiced dentistry in Oceanside for many years and I was always hanging around - interested in helping people with their teeth. I began working for him in 2004 while I got my R.D.A. license from Palomar College. I needed to venture out and experience other dental practices which opened the door for me to join the team at Lifetime Smiles- and a great team it is! I have a lovely wife, Stacey and the absolutely cutest (and smartest) two little girls ever born, Kailey and Lily. Just ask me and I'll be happy, happy to show you a picture.

Laurie

Registered Dental Hygienist

Hi, I'm Laurie, a registered dental hygienist and I've been practicing my profession for 25 years. I am a graduate of Pasadena City College dental hygiene program and of the University of St. Francis receiving my Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Arts.

Most of my career I have worked for periodontal surgeons but in 1998, I decided to expand my horizons and began working for Lifetime Smiles and Dr. McDonald. I am indebted to them for my education in their specialty which has enhanced my professional knowledge and skills. I admire them as well, for advancing our office with the latest in dental technology, enabling us to treat our patients with the utmost dental care.

On a personal note, I love the outdoors and my favorite sport is snow skiing. My husband, Tom, and I also enjoy kayaking and snorkeling in the Sea of Cortez. I have another passion and that is volunteering. I belong to two organizations, The Flying Samaritans and Thousand Smiles. We volunteer dental services in Mexico for the underserved and it's so rewarding. Ironically, I believe that I receive more than my patients do. As a result, I can't help but continue to attend the clinics, year after year!

Maureen

Registered Dental Hygienist

Hi, my name is Maureen. I have enjoyed working in the dental field for many years, first as a dental assistant and now for several years as a hygienist.

I grew up in Vista and went to school in Los Angeles to complete my dental hygiene education. Today my husband and I live in Escondido and are proud parents of our daughter who is attending Washington State University.

As a Southern California native, I can’t imagine living too far from the beaches, mountains and desert. In my spare time I like playing tennis, hiking and reading. Lifetime Smiles is an office that I am happy to be a part of as the focus is on quality and patients are offered the best in dental treatment.

Tammy

Patient Co-ordinator

I started out as a registered dental assistant but now I’m happy to greet you from my place at the front desk. My dental experience started when I was in High School. This is the only career I’ve ever known and I love it. Dr. McDonald and Dr. Prais are great dentists and are wonderful to work for. I live in beautiful Valley Center with my teen-age son, J.D. He keeps me busy with football, golf and competitive cheer!  My daughter, Brooke, is living in Oregon, pursuing a career in nursing.   I love being outdoors, whether it is riding my quad in the desert or boating on the river.
